HISTORY

In 2000 the MTRAE was formed in America during the MTRA annual conference, at the request of the Europeans present, Tim Barks and Nigel Morris.
As the first two truck owners ever to make the journey to join the MTRA and to take the technical inspectors exam, the MTRA members made us very welcome. After some discussion they agreed to, as they put it "Go Global!" and form the MTRAE {Europe}. After a vote, Nigel Morris was elected President, and Tim as Rules Director.
During 2001 the MTRAE contacted all known truck owners outside the continental USA, as well as insurance companies, and sanctioning bodies.
The MTRAE continues to grow, now being recognised as the most complete and comprehensive single source of information relating to the safe construction and use of monster trucks outside of the USA.
For 2009 the members elected a three man board in prefererance to the traditional President and Oficers of years past. The 2009 directors elected were, Glenn Ramsden, Karl Swallow and Nigel Morris.
In accordance with the current aims and ambitions of the MTRA to become a truly international organisation, the MTRAE (Europe) which has for the last 9 years represented the MTRA within Europe, has now closed. The MTRA International to give the organisation its full title is looking to actively gain members on a global basis. With monster trucks now being in use in so many countries, this is a vital expansion. The MTRAE has seen its membership dwindle since the end of the EMTRC racing series in 2009, and the remaining truck owner members along with any previous and or new members will receive a warm welcome from the international membership team in the USA home office. Nigel Morris (a director of the MTRAE from day one) said "whilst it might be seen as sad that the MTRAE is gone, it is clear that with the global reach of monster trucks reverting to central control in the USA really is the only way forward".
